The Tayana 55 was conceived, designed, and purpose-built for serious bluewater sailing. This legendary design by esteemed Dutch naval architect Pieter Beeldsnijder has proven to be one of the most versatile, durable, safest, and best performing yachts in its class. The wide (16' 1") beam of the Tayana 55 provides huge interior volume offering unmatched accommodations in a yacht of this size with a spacious 3-cabin/2-head layout that features a luxurious primary stateroom, incredible galley and even a dedicated workshop, all perfect for a full-time live aboard cruising couple or enough space to go voyaging with the whole family.

The Tayana 55 is beautiful cruising yacht with sea kindly performance characteristics… rewarding to sail, yet easily managed short-handed thanks to an efficient cutter rig and a modern in-mast furling mainsail. These bulletproof yachts have logged many offshore miles sailing the world in safety and comfort with all the requisite requirements necessary for long distance cruising. The Tayana 55 is a livable modern yacht which provides light, air, and visibility, but even more importantly security, safety, and comfort for her crew. The quality of the Tayana 55 compares favorably with any semi-custom yacht in her range and the fine interior teak joinery of the Ta Yang yard is legendary.

SERENITY is a well equipped, late production example of this highly regarded design; in fact she may be one of the best Tayana 55s ever built. She has been on the hard for the last few years in the process of an extensive restoration and now due to a change in her owners plans he will no longer be able to complete the project and is now reluctantly offering SERENITY for sale at a fraction of her value. Much work has been done including the removal, complete rebuilding and reinstallation of the Yanmar 140hp engine and Northern Lights 12kw generator, both with zero hours; but there is still much more work to do!

Please note that this Tayana 55 is not ready to sail. This is a project boat that will require significant work to make the boat operational and even more effort to restore the interior cosmetically. However, if you have the skills and time and are willing to make the necessary investment of “sweat equity” it is a unique opportunity to acquire a world-class bluewater cruising yacht at a bargain price!
