RUBAIYAT is a solidly built masthead sloop, ideal for cruising where draft is a concern.  All sails can be controlled from the cockpit with cam cleats, two-speed winches and a mainsheet traveler.  The genoa is roller furled.  The mainsail can be reefed and a whisker pole for the jib and a boom vang for the main complete the sail package. The mast has a 56 feet bridge clearance and is seated on the keel . The Edson pedestal steering makes her a joy to sail and an autopilot makes handling even easier, especially when short handed or on long passages. The keel/centerboard configuration with a shoal draft of only 4 feet lends accessibility when cruising shallow waters, but the centerboard is easily lowered for better performance when sailing to windward.  A reliable Westerbeke 30 hp diesel engine is installed with roomy access making maintenance simpler.
